GRASS VALLEY, Nevada County — November 4, 2026. Scott Beesley and Bob Branstrom held the top two places in the city’s race for two council seats in Nevada County’s election-night count. Beesley was just 15 candidate votes ahead of Branstrom; the next-ranked candidate was farther back. Results are unofficial and not certified.
Four candidates for two seats
According to the Nevada County official 2026 general-election dashboard, Beesley had 1,527 votes (34.43% of candidate selections), Branstrom 1,512 (34.09%), Edward Peevey 1,053 (23.74%), and Paul Wright 343 (7.73%). The county lists 12 of 12 precincts as having reported election-night tallies.
The 15-vote gap is between the two leading candidates, not the gap for the final available seat: Branstrom was 459 candidate selections ahead of Peevey in this particular count. Percentages are shares of recorded selections in a two-seat race, not percentages of unique registered voters.
When does an election-night report become final?
The county identifies its final election-night update as current at 12:24 a.m. November 4. Although precinct tallies were included, remaining eligible mail and provisional votes may still require validation. Updates are scheduled on Tuesdays and Fridays until certification, and the vote order can change.
